ERIN BLACK

Business Development Advisor, BECA

A strong Board will provide the Chamber with the strategic direction to grow and support members into the future. This will be achieved by working collaboratively with key industry and government stakeholders, and advocating for business on the challenges being faced in our local markets.

I am a current member of the Chamber Board and Institute of Directors NZ. The past 12 months have been particularly challenging for business in New Zealand. Under the strategic guidance of the Board I believe the Chamber, as a founding member of BusinessNZ, has worked hard to advocate and ensure that the issues facing our membership have been heard.

I’m also an Associate - Business Development Advisor at Beca; an employee-owned, multidisciplinary professional services consultancy. With over 330 staff in Canterbury, Beca has been a key contributor to the Canterbury Rebuild providing me with valuable insight and networks to local Council and the government entities overseeing the rebuild.

As strategic advisor to Beca’s Southern Leadership Team, I’m responsible for the formulation and execution of our commercial strategy in the Southern Region. Before joining Beca, I gained experience across the Aviation, Tourism and Tech Industries as Marketing Specialist at Airways New Zealand.

A double degree graduate, I hold Bachelors of Commerce (Management) and Arts (Psychology) from the Universities of Otago and Canterbury respectively. My background in Market Research is the foundation for the inquiring mind, sound analytical skills and challenge that I bring to the board table.
