Managing Director, Benefaction Ltd
After earning a Master of Planning from Lincoln University, I enjoyed several years as a planning consultant for Planz Consultants in Christchurch. As a centrally located firm that has had a hand in a number of key development projects in Christchurch, I was able to experience first-hand the rapidly changing face of business in the city.
I have also experienced a couple of stints playing and coaching cricket overseas, although being a lifelong Cantabrian meant the pull of Christchurch as a place to live proved too much to keep me away for long.
I strongly believe commercial business has the potential to be a force for positive change in New Zealand and this has led me to begin a new venture as a start-up business owner. I am the Founder and Managing Director of Benefaction, a business which helps commercial organisations design and implement social responsibility strategies that result in shared value for businesses, non-profits and ultimately communities. We made a commitment to the Chamber from the outset at Benefaction and continue to get great value out of our membership.
I view a strong and active Chamber as being integral to business growth in Canterbury. I’m keen to represent the younger generation of business leaders in the region by bringing a diverse point of view to the table, particularly in relation to the changing mind-set of the workforce. I am a strategic thinker, a pragmatist and a problem-solver with a desire to see our region flourish.
