I have lived in Christchurch most of my life together with my partner and three kids. Starting my working life as an Aircraft Engineer with Air NZ, I went on to manage the tourist and development company that built Terrace Downs Golf Resort in Rakaia Gorge as well as overseeing a couple of tourist accommodation facilities in Canterbury. Following that I was the Economic Development Manager for Christchurch for five years where I spent a great deal of my time focussed on helping to address barriers to growth for business and industry as well as working on quite a range of projects focussed on the technology, aviation, film and screen production, creative arts and broadband communications sectors. More recently I have owned and managed a number of SME type businesses and I am currently a business owner/manager with three businesses focussed on building automation, electrical and energy efficiency.
I have been on the Board of the Chamber for a number of years and I try to ensure that the interests of SME’s are represented on the Board. I believe that the Chamber does an excellent job of providing business support for SME’s and that it represents and defends the interests of business with local and central government very well.
