Hugh has been a member of the Chamber Board for eight years and is currently President, is a member of The Chamber Audit & Risk Committee and is a Board member of Champion Canterbury Limited. Hugh is a commercial partner of national legal firm Simpson Grierson and heads the firms Christchurch office.
Hugh has advised small, medium and large enterprises throughout his legal career and works to establish a relationship with his clients that is more about how they can thrive in today's business environment rather than the giving of purely legal advice. Hugh's client base mirrors the profile of the CECC membership and he enjoys bringing his knowledge of business over the last 25 years to the CECC table. Hugh holds a number of governance positions outside CECC that focus on the tertiary and secondary education sector and is also involved in a number of Charitable Trusts. Hugh was past-Chair of the Court Theatre Foundation.
Hugh is married to Toni and lives on a lifestyle block in Ohoka with their children Hannah, Charlotte and Jack.
