Peter Davie is the Chief Executive of the Lyttelton Port Company, a role he has held for 13 years. Since his commencement, he has had a strong focus on relationships with customers and staff, and improving operating systems. He has been heavily involved in upgrading infrastructure and expanding container facilities. This has been critical since the 2011 and 2012 earthquakes, where his focus has been on developing and delivering a reinstatement and development strategy that meets existing and future needs of customers, stakeholders and the wider region.
Prior to this, Peter was involved in various port operations (including the first privatized port) in Australia as Chief Executive for seven years. Through these roles Peter has gained valuable insights into trends in international trade and port practices and developments.
Peter has a Master of Commerce (Honours) in International Marketing and Business Policy from Canterbury University. Peter is married with three teenage children.
Peter was co-opted on to the Employers’ Chamber Board in February 2004 and a President from November 2010 to October 2013. Peter is committed to the Employers’ Chamber as one way of ensuring that Canterbury’s prosperity grows for the good of all.
