As part of our ongoing commitment to provide total support to our members, we offer a range of services and resources relating to staffing and human resources. From information and advice on employment law, retention, performance management and disciplinary matters to assistance with employment agreements and help finding quality workers, our team draw on their extensive knowledge of Canterbury’s business environment, and their standing in the local community, to ensure organisations can attract and retain staff who will complement their business and contribute to the overall success of their enterprise. 

Advice and Consultancy

All our experienced consultants will offer initial assessments-of-need at no cost to Chamber members on a huge range of topics before advising if you need to escalate to a paid consultancy service. At this time you will be given an indication of cost for the service. All consultancy services are offered at a preferential rate for Chamber members. The Chamber has health and safety consultants who can provide you with assistance with any health and safety requirement including - tailormade health and safety systems, in-house consultancy and training and pre-audit reviews for ACC discount programmes. Stop the Contractor Bill

The Contractor Bill - the Minimum Wage (Contractor Remuneration) Amendment Bill - could be passed in Parliament shortly. It is trying to ensure that all contractors receive an equivalent of the Minimum Wage and it’s based on a confusion about how contracts work.
