Before returning home to Christchurch, Melissa was a Senior Executive in strategy and commercialisation roles for several large publically listed multinationals including Wesfarmers, and she’s been focused on her Governance career in recent years, enjoying supporting business growth in a different capacity.
Melissa's pragmatic approach is no doubt due to growing up on a sheep and crop farm in Southbridge, and her professional background which has primarily been in industrial engineering. She has also worked in software, publishing, economic development, and for a Blockchain startup. She’s currently on the Board of Push Digital, an IT company, the Canterbury A&P Association, Motus Health, through CCHL is an associate Director at Lyttelton Port Company, and most recently is now a member of the NZ Rugby Union’s Commercial Committee.
She has an MBA from Macquarie, is a qualified Executive Coach, was a Judge for the Hi Tech Awards and the UCE Summer Startups, and is passionate about helping people and business’ achieve their potential.
