After graduating from Lincoln University with a B.Com (Hon) in Accounting and Finance I started my career as an accountant for KPMG Auckland. After KPMG I was Financial Controller for a privately owned SME in North Canterbury then became Branch Manager for Alsco, an industrial textual company with over 4000 customers and over 110 staff operating in Canterbury. Alsco operate a rental and service operation globally with major customers in the hospitality, health, primary produce and heavy production industries.
I later completed my Master of Commerce in Accounting, Finance and Information Systems after joining the University of Canterbury (UC) as the Director of Executive Development Programmes, which covered professional taught commerce masters, including the prestigious MBA programme. I then was appointed as Director of International Growth Strategies at UC where my team were responsible for growing the international student numbers for the University.
After completing some contract work I joined the Thrifty / Dollar Rental Car team as New Zealand General Manager, responsible for the 32 branches across New Zealand. My most recent board roles include the Canterbury Aero Club, parent for the International Aviation Academy, and Science Alive Charitable Trust, where I am now the Chair as well as Director of Science Alive Investment Limited.
