BENJAMIN BADGER

Benjamin Badger

I believe we all have the opportunity to contribute positively to Canterbury’s future.

I have proven experience in providing valued commercial advice and strategic direction to Canterbury companies. I previously held senior roles in banking and finance and have  been involved in a number of other businesses. My governance experience extends to the charitable sector in my work with a trust serving at-risk youth in our community.

I am a current Chamber board member and are into my third term. I also hold the current role of Vice President and am chair of The Chamber’s Audit and Risk Committee.

I’m keen to build on the current board momentum and continued focus around bringing greater value to our members and the business community. I believe The Chamber provides a valued voice for Canterbury businesses at both local and central government levels which I have seen first-hand.

I am passionate about building future business leaders.  In 2007 I was a founding member of Canterbury Young Professionals, later facilitating the New Zealand wide roll-out of the organisation.

I’m passionate about the economic and social growth of Canterbury and believe that the success of our economy is in our ability to remain relevant and transition ownership to the next generation effectively. Much of my daily work involves working with business owners to develop future ready business models which is also a key priority for The Chamber moving forward.

I’m excited about the future for Canterbury and am excited about this opportunity to play my part as a board member of The Chamber.
