The Chamber is excited to present an engaging morning of lively discussion at our first Export Breakfast of 2019!
Executive Director of ExportNZ Catherine Beard
will open the event with a prediction of what the year ahead will look like for New Zealand exporters, including risks and opportunities, as well as key legislative changes that exporters will need to be aware of.
Our next speaker is Westpac’s Imre Speizer
– Senior Market Strategist.
As a specialist in researching New Zealand’s currency and interest rate markets, and working closely with Westpac’s economists and traders, Imre is able to provide us with an analysis of the world market situation, currency trends, interest rates, and the current credit situation for exporters.
He also looks at what the future might hold – challenges and gains – and talks about how exporters can best navigate the change and instability of a rapidly changing global business environment.
We also welcome Nick Beeby
, General Manager
for Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) who will talk about the organisation’s journey to become a household name in the promotion of beef and lamb within New Zealand.
As General Manager of the B+LNZ Market Development team, Nick is able to share the key drivers of B+LNZ market development programmes and how they have been able to shape such a strong export story.
He will also discuss challenges ahead, such as how New Zealand’s red meat sector will respond to the potential future disruption of plant-based, lab-grown and insect proteins, and what the future might hold for B+LNZ in consideration of Brexit and EU trade deals.
Following our key speakers, we will be hosting a panel discussion, led by Catherine Beard, with a Q&A session to follow.
As always, this Breakfast also provides an open forum for exporters to discuss key issues of concern and opportunities with other exporters and experts in this area.
We look forward to seeing you there.
