Join us to hear from ExportNZ's and Manufacturing NZ's, Senior Policy Advisor Joshua Tan, Westpac Senior Economist Satish Ranchhod and Pure Oil New Zealand’s Managing Director Nick Murney.
> Joshua Tan will provide an update on what ExportNZ and ManufacturingNZ have been working on, and what they will be doing in the lead up to the election in October.
> Satish Ranchhod will take a look at some of the big factors that will shape the economic landscape in Canterbury and the rest of Aotearoa New Zealand, and how this may impact the local export community. That will include a look at areas such as the labour market, inflation, interest rates and the New Zealand dollar.
> Nick Murney will share his real-world experience and feedback on current global market conditions, his thoughts on the year ahead and what he is doing to steer his business in the right direction.

Joshua Tan - Senior Policy Advisor, ExportNZ | ManufacturingNZ
Josh is the Senior Policy Advisor for ExportNZ and works closely with the ExportNZ National Advisory Board to ensure the export community is well represented in Wellington. Before joining BusinessNZ, Josh was the Senior Policy and International Relations Advisor for the Wellington Chamber of Commerce and Business Central. He was also previously the Executive Secretary for the New Zealand Taiwan Business Council.
Satish Ranchhod - Senior Economist, Westpac
Satish joined Westpac’s Economics team as a Senior Economist in October 2014. His work focuses on inflation, as well as developments in New Zealand's household and construction sectors. Prior to joining Westpac, he was an adviser at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Much of his career has focused analysing and forecasting the New Zealand economy, with a particular focus on inflation. Satish has also spent time as an economic researcher, leading the Reserve Bank’s analysis of the economic effects of the Canterbury earthquakes and its analysis of the global economy during the financial crisis.
Nick Murney – Managing Director, Pure Oil New Zealand
Nick is the Managing Director of Pure Oil NZ and has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance & Accounting. He has held previous roles in Investment Banking, Accounting and Commercial roles with a New Zealand Mining Company. Nick previously managed the Crush Plant and completed a buyout of the company assets together with a consortium of investors in 2012. Nick is passionate about oilseed rape products and strives to meet customers’ demands for high-quality oil and meal.
