WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP:
CONSCIOUS LEADERSHIP AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAMME 

Join our Women’s Leadership community on a journey of mutual discovery with this immersive learning experience that will challenge you to relook at how you lead.  From self, to team, to organisation ... the Conscious Leadership and Emotional Intelligence programme will:

  • Build awareness of the principles and practice of conscious leadership
  • Develop a heightened understanding of self; your strengths and your blind spots
  • Increase your ability to engage with and influence others
  • Raise your systems awareness so you can influence your organisation 

The programme consists of three full day (9am - 4.30pm) sessions as outlined below:


Session One: Understanding Self 
Thursday 18 October 2018
Explore the core practices of Conscious Leadership; Enneagram personality assessment; how to change our own behaviour and practices.

Session Two: Interpersonal Dynamics
choose from either: Monday 29 or Tuesday 30 October 2018
(note following your registration we will inform you if you are on the Monday or Tuesday session - if you have a preference please let us know by responding to your registration confirmation)

Recognise the impact of behaviours on others through participation in a T-group, as used on the Stanford (USA) and Canterbury University MBA programmes (click here to hear about the effectiveness of T-Groups). These will be facilitated in smaller groups and participants will have the option to attend on either the 29th or 30th of October. Note the T-Group sessions will be held at the Arts Centre, University of Canterbury workshop space on Hereford Street (entrance is opposite the YMCA)

Session Three: Systems Awareness
Wednesday 7 November 2018 
The Organisation Workshop Simulation. The Organisation Workshop gets to the heart of partnership in organisation life – why partnership is critical to organizational success, what gets in the way of it developing, and the role of leaders in making it happen. Facilitated by Ian Brooks
Ph.D, BA, MBA(Hons), M.Ed (Dist) Cert.Counselling. 
Ian is a Christchurch-based leadership developer, academic and coach. He is passionate about helping leaders understand themselves at a deeper level and to develop their ability to handle the uncertainties, complex relationships and degree of change inherent in modern workplaces. With a background in both leadership and academia, Ian brings a unique range of skills and experience to his work. His leadership experience includes eight years in senior leadership roles at CEO level, in business and local government. He has been teaching on the MBA Programme for over twenty years and has a wealth of knowledge and teaching experience.

This targeted development initiative is designed for anyone in or about to move into a leadership role, looking to enhance their leadership capabilities for the present and the future.
