Join us to hear Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Hon Kris Faafoi discuss Government priorities and policy for Commerce regulation and legislation.
Since taking on this portfolio, Kris Faafoi’s focus has been to help ensure the wheels of commerce move smoothly and that New Zealand capitalises on every advantage it can to grow our economy, jobs wages and opportunities. This has included driving open banking options for New Zealand consumers, and supporting market studies as an important new feature of New Zealand’s business competition regime.
As Minister of Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media, Kris Faafoi will also discuss the Government’s direction and future for communications and digital media, and how this will impact local business. A key area of interest is how Maori and Pacific People’s language, culture and perspective can be better represented across publicly funded media, collaboration between agencies, and on funding of public media in Budget 2019.
There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask the Minister questions following his presentation.
