With the Fair Pay Agreement system set to take effect on 1 December The Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce is holding an update with Paul MacKay, Manager Employment Relations Policy at BusinessNZ.
Facilitated by The Chambers HR/ER Advisor Michael Prisk, this update is designed to assist small business employers to understand the complexities of this new Act and what their obligations and their role in the bargaining process may be.
We will cover:

> The impact of FPAs on both employers and employees
Paul will also be available to answer any questions following his presentation.
Paul MacKay has worked in employment relations in the private and public sectors. He was extensively involved in the post-1980 reforms in education, the environmental sector and the public service. Previous work included a range of roles in the energy sector, change management at Ernst & Young and General Manager Employment Relations at Carter Holt Harvey. Paul has been elected Employer Deputy Member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation and Employer member of the ILO Standards Review Mechanism Group.
Michael Prisk (MC and Facilitator) is the HR/ER Consultant for the Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce. His role involves providing advice, support and consulting services to members of the Chamber. In a varied career to date, Michael has worked for a trade union, been self-employed and carried out roles at a corporate level in the Health Sector. Prior to joining the Chamber, he has been employed by two councils as Human Resources Manager.
