PROGRAMME OVERVIEW:

MODULE ONE: UNDERSTANDING CHANGE

Our ability to adapt to continuous change is probably one of the most important challenges facing organisations wishing to advance. This half day workshop is the first of a series of four and is focussed on successfully navigating change and understanding how to prepare for and approach the subject

In workshop one, you will focus on:

  • What is change management and what’s in it for you to increase your organisations ‘change fitness’
  • Understanding what happens to people during the various stages of change and how to use this information to enhance your ability to create sustainable change
  • How to recognise and identify the key considerations needed when planning for change in your organization.
  • How to raise the awareness of others of the need for change
  • The importance of an organisations culture when approaching a period of change.

Applying this information will allow managers, team leaders and those responsible for leading people to: Be a stronger and more capable change leader equipped with initial knowledge, tools and skills needed to plan for and lead change in your organisation.

    MODULE TWO: CHANGE PLANNING

Successful change requires having a plan and knowing how to manage and overcome the inevitable resistance, effectively manage conflict, and allow people to find a connection to the change and their desire to commit to the change. The workshop will also focus on how to be more effective in your communication and interactions with others.

In workshop two participants will focus on:
  • How to develop and implement a basic change plan. (using workplace examples)
  • How to understand and importance the positions of key stakeholders
  • How to shape influence them in the right direction.
  • How to identify and avoid key mistakes when planning for change.
  • How to identify resistance and create approaches that will help to overcome it.
  • How to identify and manage conflict

Applying this information will allow managers, team leaders and those responsible for leading people to: Create workable change plans to reduce waste and avoid the pitfalls associated with poorly implemented initiatives

    MODULE THREE: CHANGE LEADERSHIP
Leading change successfully means spending time outside of your comfort zone and as the individual leading an initiative, there is often a need to change your mindset, actions, and behaviours as leaders have a major part to play in influencing people positively, neutrally or negatively. This co-facilitated session will focus on the role of the leader during change and how they can use the organisations values and culture to be stronger. Attendees will focus on understanding your leadership and how to add value to your team and organisation during change.

In workshop three participants will focus on:

  • Appreciating the essential requirements for successful change leadership
  • The role of the leader during change and how they can use values to create stronger more change capable cultures
  • Being clear about who you need to be, and how you need to behave, in order to succeed as a change leader
  • Leading self, leading others and leading organisations through change
  • Communicating during change – how to identify, segment and engage with people
  • The key change leader roles, responsibilities, and capabilities
  • The art of publicly ‘walking your talk’ around change

Applying this information will allow managers, team leaders and those responsible for leading people to: Be a stronger and more capable change leader equipped with initial knowledge, tools and skills needed to plan for and lead change in your organisation.

    MODULE FOUR: EMBEDDING CHANGE
Many change initiatives can start well but lose momentum or they see people revert to earlier work patterns because the change was not fully embedded.   If well implemented changes will be sustained for a number of reasons most importantly because the ownership of the change is weighted correct and people at all levels understand the importance of maintaining and increasing progress gained

In the workshop four participants will focus on:

  • How to fully embed your change initiative
  • Staying positive during change and keeping the momentum moving alive
  • Keeping change as a normal part of the organisations DNA
  • How to prepare and involve people in future changes and create environments where people are more often part of the solution, not the problem

Applying this information will allow managers, team leaders and those responsible for leading people to: Be a stronger and more capable change leader equipped with initial knowledge, tools and skills needed to plan for and lead change in your organisation.
