Cultural intelligence is one of the most critical skills in business. With a growing Maori population reflected in our workforce, customers and stakeholders, there’s never been a better time to grow your competence and awareness of Aotearoa New Zealand’s unique and rich Maori heritage, culture and language.
Facilitated by Anton Matthews (Te Rarawa, Te Aupouri), owner of local restaurant FUSH, this course starts with the very basics – you won’t be expected to know (or say) anything in te reo initially, with the first course dedicated to learning basic vowel and consonant sounds, understanding macrons, common words and phrases. You will find out how to incorporate te reo into your workplace, and tips on how you can help to normalise te reo in your everyday life.
Run over three half days:
Session One - Wednesday 3 February 2021
Session Two - Wednesday 10 February 2021
Session Three - Wednesday 17 February 2021
