THE CHAMBER BOARD ELECTION 2021/22
The current Board and Executive have set an exciting transformation strategy as part of ensuring we meet and exceed changing member expectations and consumer requirements, and apply new technology to continue to drive efficiency, customer engagement and a strong customer experience, all of which will result in ensuring we have a sustainable business model, fit for the future.
We are looking for diverse future-focused Directors to provide visionary and critical thinking and strategic governance to support the Chief Executive in a rapidly changing business environment. You will have previous governance experience and understand the impact of disruption on strategy alongside having a genuine interest in being part of one of Canterbury’s leading business support organisations that contributes towards building a thriving business community. Experience in the application of technology and information systems to innovate and disrupt would also be advantage.
The Board’s role is to set policy, working alongside the Chief Executive, to determine the strategic direction of The Chamber and support the Chief Executive. The Board consists of 12 Directors, each serving a two-year term. This year we have six members up for re-election and one stepping down so there will be an opportunity for new members to be elected.
Nominees must be existing members of The Chamber. Nominations must be proposed and seconded. The nominator can be a member of your organisation, and the seconder must be from outside of your organisation. Both the nominator’s organisation and the seconder’s organisation must be current members of The Chamber.

30 August: all nominations received by 5.00pm
27 September: electronic voting commences – special voting email distributed to the key contact of each member organisation with link to vote
20 October: electronic voting closes at 5.00pm
21 October: results announced at AGM (held 4.00pm at The Chamber, 57 Kilmore Street)
