One of the key challenges facing businesses is how to create the right combination of innovation, capability building and research & development, particularly in hi-tech fields.

The New Zealand government offers a range of co-funding assistance designed to help businesses to access expertise, resources, engage interns, skills building and technoloy development to assist them in developing new products and maximise their commercial return. The grants are administered through Callaghan Innovation and are focused on improving economic growth.

Whether you are a backyard inventor or an established business you are eligible to apply for grants provided you are a registered New Zealand company with a:

  • pathway to market
  • ability to deliver
  • benefit to New Zealand
  • technical stretch

The Chamber is part of the Regional Business Partner Network (RBP). This network is supported by Callaghan Innovation and NZTE to provide information and advice to New Zealand businesses. We can:

  • provide a gateway to finding and engaging domestic and international technical expertise and co-funding resources through Global Expert
  • help you develop a commercialisation strategy to maximise return from your product, process or device
  • assist with intellectual property opportunity and potential and,
  • assist with concept validation, specification and prototype development.
