The Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety, Brooke van Velden, has announced that there will be consultation on the current work health and safety system in the coming months, including a roadshow across the regions. The Government is interested in feedback on the work health and safety regulatory system and in particular on the law and regulations, the supporting information (e.g. guidance and approved codes of practice), the regulators, and the responsibilities of businesses, workers, and others with a role in the system.
Further information and how to make a submission can be found on the MBIE site here: Holidays Act Reform.
The consultation closes on 31 October 2024.
Business Canterbury will keep members updated about progress on the review.
