On 20 November, Business Canterbury’s community gathered at the Christchurch Town Hall for an insightful morning featuring Graeme Sumner, CEO of Lyttelton Port Company. Attendees gained valuable perspectives on the port's strategic developments, its critical role in regional exports, and global logistics trends shaping the future. The event, hosted by ExportNZ, fostered discussions about innovation, sustainability, and growth opportunities for local exporters.

The event underscored the importance of technological advancements, such as AI and digitisation, in driving efficiency and attendees left with actionable insights for navigating challenges and opportunities.

The speakers noted the resilience of the New Zealand export sector despite global challenges and expressed optimism for future growth.

Speaker Bio's

Graeme has been LPC’s Chief Executive for over a year now and has a goal of seeing LPC become the best Port in the Country. Before LPC, Graeme was the CEO of Airways NZ for nearly 5 years and has been a Chief Executive for over 25 years running listed companies in Australia – Advanced Braking Technology and Service Stream. 

Simon has had 20 years in the logistics industry across sales, operations, international supply chain and management. He’s had postings in the Middle East and Asia and is now back in NZ as the Managing Director of K+N (New Zealand)
